    Today, July 18, the participants of the sixth expedition “Together in the Russian North - 2019” arrived in St. Petersburg

    On board the schooner there are 32 pupils of the Youth Club of the Russian Geographical Society “Prionegia Shipbuilders” aged 10 to 17 years and their teachers.

    The expedition of young sailors started on July 1, 2019 from the cadet school “Ships of the Onega Region” in the city of Vytegra, Vologda Region. The exploratory journey will end on July 27.

    During the expedition, its participants will overcome 1083 kilometers. On their way - Valaam, St. Petersburg, Kronstadt and Shlisselburg. During the trip, children's crews are waiting for master classes and classes in shipping and navigation, sailing and first aid.

    In St. Petersburg, young sailors will visit the Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Isaac's Cathedral, Admiralty, Strelka Vasilievsky Island, the cruiser Aurora, an exposition of military equipment, material and spiritual heritage of the Second World War in the patriotic association Lenrezerv and the city of Kronshtadt.

    On July 19, project participants will visit the headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society and take part in a panel discussion following the results of their trip “Together in the Russian North-2019”.
