A Certificate of Honour of V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St.Petersburg, was handed to Gordana Peraziс, a renowned expert in tourism and public figure in the Balkans, at the Russian Embassy in Montenegro.

Exactly 40 years ago, Mrs Peraziс arrived in Russia for the first time, as a representative of a travel agency. Due to her self-denying work, the tourist exchange between the former Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union increased manifold. The ceremony was attended by Milo Jankovic, Mayor of Cetinje, the capital of Montenegro. Milan Rocen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, addressed to Mrs Perazic his congratulations. The award was bestowed on G. Peraziс "for the creative ideas and concrete results".

    - For the development of Russo-Montenegrin relations, Gordana has done so much that we cannot consider her a foreigner any longer, - said Yakov Gerasimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Montenegro, at the ceremony.

Mrs Peraziс thanked V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St. Petersburg, for this honour: "Russia is my second homeland. I devote this Certificate of Honour to my father, my uncle, and all the Soviet and Yugoslav soldiers who shed their blood for the liberation of humanity from Nazism. My main wealth is the trust of Russian friends that I have earned over forty years of work. I am happy that I've been able to continue the work of my illustrious ancestors, who consecrated my road to Russia".

The Peraziс family has been inseparably tied with Russia since the beginning of the XIX century. Father, Dmitry Peraziс, served at the Black Sea Fleet as a regimental priest; in 1816, he was awarded a Certificate of Honor by Tsar Alexander I. Grandfather, Dr Boсidar Peraziс was a personal physician of Nikola I, King of Montenegro, and as Head of the Montenegrin Red Cross kept personal contact with the Empress Maria Feodorovna.
