    The Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg met with the new Consul General of the Slovak Republic

    On May 16, 2019, Grigoriev E.D., Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, met in Smolny with the new Consul General of the Slovak Republic in St. Petersburg, Igor Dertso.

    During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Petersburg-Slovak relations, as well as prospects for the development of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.

    Igor Derzo informed about the current political and economic situation in Slovakia and noted the importance of strengthening relations with St. Petersburg in the economic and investment spheres.

    The Slovak side considers cooperation of medical institutions a new area of ​​cooperation. So, contacts between the North-West State Medical University named after A.Kh. I.I.Mechnikova and medical educational institutions of the Slovak Republic.

    In addition, during the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation with partners of St. Petersburg in Slovakia, and in particular, with the partner city Košice.

    Grigoriev E.D. invited Slovak partners to actively participate in the International Congress "St. Petersburg and the Slavic World", which will be held November 19-22, 2019 and in the IX Small and Medium Business Partnership, which will be held in the spring of 2020.
