A working meeting of the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Yevgeny Grigoriev with the management of the Italian engineering company Proger S.p.A took place in Smolny. It is an international company offering design and management services in various fields of activity. Included in the top 100 engineering companies in the world. In 2016, the turnover of the company “Proger S.p.A” amounted to about 140 million euros.
The event was attended by representatives of the Committee for Healthcare, the Committee for Industrial Policy and Innovations of St. Petersburg, the Committee for Investments of St. Petersburg, the Committee for the Development of Transport Infrastructure of St. Petersburg, and the Project Management - Project Office of the Administration of the Governor of St. Petersburg.
During the meeting, the CEO of Proger S.p.A, Marco Lombardi, spoke about the main activities of the company:
construction, transport infrastructure, oil and gas industry, environmental and social design, as well as key projects implemented by the company in different countries of the world.
Separately, the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry.
The St. Petersburg side was presented a project to create a pharmaceutical cluster in St. Petersburg, developed by Italian specialists in cooperation with the Russian partner Integro, which will focus on diagnostics of cardiovascular and oncological diseases, drug production, treatment and rehabilitation of patients.
The strategic objective of the project is to produce a wide range of domestic medicinal substances of the world level, included in the list of vital and essential drugs for the prevention and treatment of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, which are currently almost 85% supplied by foreign manufacturers. The implementation of the project of a pharmaceutical company involves the use of modern production technologies through the introduction of an integrated management scheme.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the elaboration of the Italian project by the relevant executive authorities of St. Petersburg, as well as considering the possibility of the participation of Italian companies in the implementation of other important infrastructure projects in St. Petersburg.

On the cooperation of St. Petersburg with Italian partners
Petersburg Industrial Cluster "Autoprom North-West" together with Italian partners is working on the issue of forming a park of industrial suppliers with an engineering center and testing laboratory. At this stage, representatives of the cluster consolidate production and service programs with the participation of Italian partners. As a potential partner, the Italian company is currently considering a resident of the cluster, Metalproduktsiya LLC (St. Petersburg). The planned investment volume is 4 million euros.
The Italian engineering company CSI S.p.A., which also provides product certification services for the ISO quality management system and export certification, plans to open a representative office in St. Petersburg. The company's plans for the medium term - the construction or purchase of its own full-cycle laboratory in St. Petersburg.
In addition, the cluster is negotiating on the possibilities of localizing the production in St. Petersburg of the leading engineering companies in Italy - Tecnoalfa (production of equipment for industrial lines) and Lairt (production of molds and tooling).
Residents of the Special Economic Zone of St. Petersburg actively interact with Italian partners. Vertex JSC works with the companies IMA spa, Marchesini Group (production equipment), Vibrosistemi srl (format parts for equipment), PADANA Cleanroom S.R.L. (equipment for clean rooms), Aermec S.P.A. (ventilation equipment) on the acquisition of equipment for its own production.
LLC NPP Laser Systems and the Italian enterprise for the production of meteorological equipment Nesa interact in order to exchange experience in the field of laser technology for industrial production.
In the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2018, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between St. Petersburg, JSC ROSINZHINIRING and the Italian company DR. SCHAERSPA. The parties are interested in joint participation in the project for the production of diet food.
Alkor Bio Company LLC, a member of the innovative territorial cluster “Cluster of the medical, pharmaceutical industry, radiation technologies”, together with the Italian company Next Level srl (Calenzano, Florence), are implementing a project to develop and manufacture a line of automated analyzers for medical laboratory diagnostics and reagents to them.
