    A monument to the "daughter of the Kazakh people, pupil of Leningrad" Aliya Moldagulova was opened In St. Petersburg

    The official opening ceremony of the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Alia Moldagulova took place in the Krasnogvardeisky district of St. Petersburg. The event was attended by representatives of the executive authorities of St. Petersburg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Imangali Tasmagambetov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Vyacheslav Makarov, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg Bolat Imanbayev, as well as Aliya’s cousin and sculptor Edige Rakhmadiev.

    On behalf of the Government of St. Petersburg, Vladimir Rublevsky, Chairman of the Improvement Committee, spoke at the ceremony.

    The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation, Imangali Tasmagambetov, recalled that Aliya Moldagulova was one of the best, and not only because she had destroyed 78 fascists from a sniper rifle. She deliberately sacrificed youth and life. With the words “Hurray! For the friendship of the peoples” went to her last attack.

    "In the city-hero, which Aliya loved immensely, we opened a monument testifying to her heroic past and grateful present ... Visiting this magnificent place, each of us will see and feel how endlessly dear Russia is the daughter of the Kazakh people, a student of Leningrad" - said Imangali Tasmagambetov.

    He thanked for his assistance in implementing the idea of the administration of St. Petersburg, as well as the personally Acting Governor of the city Alexander Beglov.

    Reference: The monument was made according to the project of sculptor Rakhmadiev Edige Erkegalievich. The monument is a sculpture composition mounted on a pedestal of pink granite. Made of bronze, the name of the heroine and the invoice star of the hero are cast on the granite block (cast - bronze). On the reverse side of the granite block there is a short description of the feat of A. Moldagulova, carved in stone in Russian.

    The height of the monument is 3 m., The pedestal is 0.4 m.
