On April 28, 2019, as part of the celebration of the 44th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the unification of the country (April 30, 1975), the opening ceremony of a series of sports competitions organized by the Communist Youth Union named after comrade Ho Chi Minh was held with the support of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.
The event was attended by the Komsomol of the Communist Youth Union named after Comrade Ho Chi Minh in St. Petersburg, the leadership of the Vietnamese fellowship, as well as 16 teams from 20 universities of our city.
During the competition, the participants, whose number is expected to exceed 200 people, will try their hand at 6 sports, including football, table tennis, volleyball and running. Participating in them will not only allow demonstration of good physical training of students from Vietnam as heirs of the heroic past of their country, but also become a symbol of the unity of the youth who live and study in St. Petersburg.
Competitions will continue on May 3 and 5, when the debriefing and the closing ceremony will take place.
