    A presentation of the collection of poems by Mordovian poetess Ekaterina Ogareva held In St. Petersburg

    March 16, 2019 in the St. Petersburg House of Nationalities in the framework of the project "Native Lands. Memories" Non-profit organization "Fund for the Support and Development of Mordovian Culture in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region "Shumbrat" held a presentation of the collection of poems "Stitches and Stitches" of the St. Petersburg poetess, member of the Writers' Union of Russia Ekaterina Ogareva.

    The event started with a Chairman of the Interregional Public Organization of the Mordovian (Moksha and Erzya) people, Yuri Alexandrovich Mishanin video greeting from Mordovia.

    Ekaterina presented her poems dedicated to the small homeland, Mordovian village, as well as works of lyrical themes. In the concert program the children's folklore ensemble "Alyonushka" performed. Alexey Gorbunov, an accordionist from Mordovia, performed national melodies and popular hits of the mid-20th century.

    Guests and participants of the evening were greeted by Vyacheslav Kalganov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, President of the "Shumbrat" Fund for the Support and Development of Mordovian Culture in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region" Sergei Artyomov, secretary of the Writers' Union of Russia Roman Kruglov, head of the National Literatures department of the National Library of Russia Shushanna Zhabko, head of the department of interethnic relations of the St. Petersburg House of Nationalities Galina Ponomareva.

    Ekaterina Ogareva is a poetess and prose writer, a member of the Writers' Union of Russia, a member of the Council of Young Writers of the Writers' Union of Russia, docent of the North-West Institute of Management, branch of RANEPA.
    Her debut book is a lyrical declaration of love to the pathernal people of Erzya and to the native Penza region. The touching childhood memories of country-side life alternate with a heartsinking for places and people dear to her heart, and germinate with philosophical reflections on life, love and faith. Invisible stitches are drawn from the past and call to origins - so the true Word about the native land is born.
