In his welcoming speech to the participants and guests of the concert, A.A. Abubakarov noted that St. Petersburg traditionally pays great attention to the development of relations with the People's Republic of China, including the Western part of China. "This year we have been twice visited by representative delegation of the city of Chongqing, headed by the mayor Mr. Tang Lanji in July and with the Vice-mayor Lee Danicunem in September," he said. "I am confident that through joint efforts we will be able to strengthen the business basis of our relations, as well as to create strong ties between the residents of our cities."
The representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg Vladimir Zapevalov and Chinese Consul General in St. Petersburg Ms. Go Min took part in the meeting as honored guests.
The concert was attended by: song and dance ensemble of Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous region and Gansu Opera and ballet Theatre. The creative teams put on wonderful perfomaces of the people of Western China in traditional folk costumes of the region.
