    Activities in Prague, Aimed at Further Developing the Cooperation with Compatriots Abroad

    Within the framework of the St.Petersburg Government program for 2008-2010 on implementing the Russian Federation state policy concerning the compatriots abroad, the Committee for External Relations of St.Petersburg, along with the publishing house «Zlatoust», run the events aimed at further developing the cooperation with compatriots living in Czech Republic (the «Russian Language in Multilingual Europe» project), in Prague on May 13 through 16, 2009.

    Within the framework of the St.Petersburg Government program for 2008-2010 on implementing the Russian Federation state policy concerning the compatriots abroad, the Committee for External Relations of St.Petersburg, along with the publishing house «Zlatoust», run the events aimed at further developing the cooperation with compatriots living in Czech Republic (the «Russian Language in Multilingual Europe» project), in Prague on May 13 through 16, 2009.

    The following events were organized:

    • International round table «Russia and Czech Republic. Philological Study of Transition Period»;
    • International Seminar «Modern Technologies of Training and Teaching of Russian Language as a Second / Foreign Language outside the Native Environment» (theme: «The Criteria for Evaluating the Educational Aids as a Part of Professional Competence of Teachers of Russian as Foreign Language», «Methods of Adapting the Text To Adhere with European Levels of Language Competence», «Live Russian in a Textbook of A2-B1 Level - is that possible?» etc.);
    • Solemn handing the educational and methodical literature on Russian language to the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Prague and the Czech educational institutions, on behalf of St.Petersburg Government;
    • Handing the commemorative medals «In Honour of 65th anniversary of Complete Leningrad Liberation from the Fascist Siege» to the Russian Federation Embassy in Czech Republic, for the delivery to the participants of Leningrad defense and former residents of sieged Leningrad living in the Czech Republic afterwards.

    S.L. Markov, Vice-Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St.Petersburg, met with the Coordination Council of Russian compatriots living in the Czech Republic, and the agreements were reached on the participation of our fellow citizens in the activities of St.Petersburg Government in 2008-2010 on the implementation of Russian Federation state policy concerning the compatriots abroad.
