    On May 27-29 the X Gulf of Finland Maritime Assembly (Finland-Estonia-Russia) was held in St. Petersburg.

    Main goals: extending and facilitating three-country-cooperation in the area of the joint maritime history, maritime tourism, maritime festivals and joint projects implemented in the Gulf of Finland. 

    Organizer: “Bizkon” Center with support of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.

    Main goals: extending and facilitating three-country-cooperation in the area of the joint maritime history, maritime tourism, maritime festivals and joint projects implemented in the Gulf of Finland.

    Over 50 representatives from Russia, Estonia and Finland participated in the Maritime Assembly.

    The program featured:

    - a session of the Maritime Assembly Management Committee (May 27),

    - a visit to the Historic Dockyard “Poltava” to learn about the construction of “Poltava”, the first naval vessel of the Peter the Great’s era (May 28),

    - a plenary meeting of the Marine Assembly, reports on the most vital issues of cooperation in the maritime sphere, viewing the exposition of the Marine Festival held at Lenexpo (May 28),

    - a visit to the Perovskaya Akvatoria Scale Model (May 29).

    The main results of the Maritime Assembly:

    -results of the 10-year work were summarized and new areas of cooperation determined;

    -results of joint projects within the framework of cross-border cooperation in facilitating safe passage of small vessels across the Gulf of Finland were analyzed;

    - areas of responsibility for the three parties in preparation and implementation of a joint project on maritime tourism development as part of the Central Baltic international program were distinguished;

     - directions of developing domestic yacht tourism for foreign yachts within the framework of the possible future project “Baltic Silver Ring” for the ENI Program 2014-2020 were determined;

    - the joint project “TriK” aimed at organizing a ferry connection Kunda - Kotka - Kronstadt was reopened for review as part of the “Baltic Silver Ring” Project;

    - St. Petersburg suggested a more active use of Kronstadt and Fort Konstantin with all the necessary technical and organizational capacities for berthing and storing Finnish and Estonian yachts;

    -the next Gulf of Finland Maritime Assembly was scheduled to take place in Sillamäe (Estonia) in November 2015.
