In accordance with the invitation of Andreas Christou, Mayor of Limassol, on August 13 through 29, 2012, holidays were organized for a group of the girls from the orphanage school № 46 of Primorsky District in a summer mountain camp near Limassol.
In accordance with the invitation of Andreas Christou, Mayor of Limassol, on August 13 through 29, 2012, holidays were organized for a group of the girls from the orphanage school № 46 of Primorsky District in a summer mountain camp near Limassol.
The project was implemented with the assistance of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, the Committee for Education and the Administration of Primorsky District of St.Petersburg, as a part of a cooperation agreement between the Government of St.Petersburg, Russian Federation, and the Municipality of Limassol, Cyprus, signed in May 2012 in St.Petersburg.
Despite the fact that the municipality of Limassol had the opportunity to receive 100 children from St.Petersburg for the whole summer period of 2012, it was managed to send only 9 people. The flight fare was paid by the management of the school № 46. All expenses for the stay in the camp of the children of St.Petersburg, including the organization of excursions, took over the municipality of Limassol under the contract.
Here are the mpressions of the participants: Cyprus conquered us with its myths, legends, culture, traditions, and of course the hospitality! Never could we imagine that we would be so happy due to the warm sea, caressing sun, meeting with kind people! They did everything to make us feel at home, with family and friends to us humans. We really relaxed, saw a lot of interesting places, learned a lot and met amazing people! They are Mr Andreas Christou, Mayor of Limassol, his spouse, his advisor on culture Mrs Schevi, his trusty friend and assistant, Mrs Kristalla Agapiou and many others. We were like a real family! They are heartful, caring, considerate, responsive, resilient, cheerful people! Many thanks to them for all they have done for us!”
