    A Delegation of Chinese City Yueqing Visited St.Petersburg

    On July 10, 2012, I.O.Lonskiy, Deputy Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, Head of International Cooperation Department, met in Smolny with Li Yinxiao, Deputy Mayor of City Yueqing, Republic of China.

    On July 10, 2012, I.O.Lonskiy, Deputy Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, Head of International Cooperation Department, met in Smolny with Li Yinxiao, Deputy Mayor of City Yueqing, Republic of China.
    The two sides exchanged views on the future directions of cooperation between the two cities.

    The head of Yueqing delegation expressed the interest of Chinese side in increasing its investment in the development of joint Petersburg-Chinese projects, including the construction of transport, logistics and warehousing facilities for storage and transit of goods from China.

    Yueqing is a main suburb of the seaport of Wenzhou, a renowned economic and tourist center and transport hub of southern China.
    Two years ago, the Mayor Office of Yueqing showed an active interest in developing the cooperation with St.Petersburg. In summer of 2010, our city was visited by Jiang Zenyao, Mayor of Yueqing, for negotiations with the Primorsky District of St.Petersburg on the establishment of cooperation. The Mayor suggested that the Administration of Primorskiy District should explore the benefits of cooperation in investment projects in the field of residential and warehouse construction.
