On July 7, 2012, G.S.Poltavchenko, Governor of St.Petersburg, met in Smolny with Professor Helmut List, Chairman of the Board and CEO of AVL List GMBH, Chairman of the Council of Technical University of Graz (Austria), Chairman of the Austrian-Russian Business Council.
The talks discussed the prospects of cooperation in technology transfer, engineering research and services in high-tech industries. The meeting resulted in signing the Agreement for the establishment of Center of Competencies for the development of engines and transmissions between the AVL List GMBH and St.Petersburg State Polytechnic University.
Creating such a center would allow the city to use the “know-how” of “AVL” in the preparation of the engineers of a new formation as a key tool for innovative development of Russian industry at carrying out research, development of innovative product, and introduction of new technologies (taking into account the environment and energy efficiency), the development of various types of engines, and their modernization and certification, ofsubmission of the latest research programs, as well as the purchasing the modern research equipment and measurement systems.
