On April 24, 2011, a concert of classical chamber music was performed by the renowned Austrian pianist Christian Schmidt at the Sheremetev Palace (Museum of Music).

The concert was a part of the Austrian project “Musical Evenings of Graz”, devoted to the piano in a variety of forms, from solo to quintet, and it was a gift from Graz to St.Petersburg on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the partnership.

The ensemble “Musical Evenings in Graz” includes many eminent musicians – from the members of the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, and Vienna Symphony Orchestra to musicians of European Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Flemish Philharmonic.
The residents of St.Petersburg had the opportunity to enjoy the piano and violin duet – Christian Schmidt, the pianist, winner of numerous musical contests and scholarships, and the initiator of the project “Musical Evenings” was accompanied by Peter Matzka, concertmaster of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.

The event was attended by around 150 people.
