    I Scandinavian Conference of Teachers of Russian Language

    On November 1 through 3, 2010, I Scandinavian conference of teachers of Russian language was held in Stockholm (Sweden), with the support of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, attended by teachers of Russian philology from all cities of Sweden, and the experts from Norway, Finland, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria. In total, the conference was attended by 72 people.

    On November 1 through 3, 2010, I Scandinavian conference of teachers of Russian language was held in Stockholm (Sweden), with the support of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, attended by teachers of Russian philology from all cities of Sweden, and the experts from Norway, Finland, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria. In total, the conference was attended by 72 people.

    At the conference opening, the greetings of A.V. Prokhorenko, member of St.Petersburg Government Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, were delivered, and all participants were awarded the sets of teaching materials in Russian language and books on history and culture of Russia and St.Petersburg, in accordance with the Program of St.Petersburg Government on the implementation of Russian Federation state policy concerning the compatriots living abroad.

    The audience was also greeted by N.A. Pronina, First secretary at the Embassy of Russia, M. Vennerholm, a representative of Swedish Department for Education and Leader of the “Mother Tongues” project, L. Siegel, Chairman of the Union of Russian Societies in Sweden, S. Parming, Chairman of the Association of Russian Teachers of Sweden, G. Forbregd, Editor of the website for teachers of Russian language in Norwey, O. Bieba, Head of Swedish Youth Association “East Wind”, and A. Kondryakov, Chairman of all-Ukraine public organization “Russian School”.

    At the plenary meeting, S.N. Golubev and A.V. Golubeva, leaders of St.Petersburg Center “Chrysostom” reported on new developments in teaching and methodology of bilingualism, while E. Kudryavtseva, a representative of Germany, reported on gaming techniques as a form of development of speech and national identity of bilinguals. The second and third days of the conference were assigned to round tables and master-classes, enabling the conference participants to get experience in many author's methods and practices of language teaching in different countries.
