    The Second International Business Symposium “Prospects and Opportunities of Finnish-Russian Cooperation on Joint Development of Scientific Research and Innovative Technologies”

    On November 8 through 10, 2010, Turku hosted the second International Business Symposium "Prospects and Opportunities of the Finnish-Russian Cooperation on Joint Development of Scientific Research and Innovative Technologies”.

    On November 8 through 10, 2010, Turku hosted the second International Business Symposium "Prospects and Opportunities of the Finnish-Russian Cooperation on Joint Development of Scientific Research and Innovative Technologies”.


    The event was organized by the Turku Science Park, University of Turku, JBL – Finnish-Russian Biochemical Laboratory, Russian Center for Science and Culture in Helsinki, Russian Consulate in Turku.

    At the opening ceremony, a welcoming speech was given by Professor Keijo Virtanen, Rector of the University of Turku. The symposium was also attended by Sergei Kolesnikov, Member of the Presidium of Academy of Medical Sciences and State Duma Deputy, Academician Oleg Kiselyov, Director of Institute of Influenza, and Alexander Sverchkov, Consul General of Russia in Turku. The total number of participants was 35 people.

    The main themes of the symposium were pharmacology, the development of new drugs, and medical diagnostics.
