    Tallinn Encounters in St.Petersburg

    On October 28 through 30, the traditional “Tallinn Encounters in St.Petersburg” were held in our city, with the participation of a delegation headed by Edgar Savisaar, Mayor of Tallinn (Estonia).

    On October 28 through 30, the traditional “Tallinn Encounters in St.Petersburg” were held in our city, with the participation of a delegation headed by Edgar Savisaar, Mayor of Tallinn (Estonia).

    The purpose of the program was the development of business and cultural ties between St.Petersburg and Tallinn.

    During the visit, Mayor of Tallinn had a business meeting with V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St.Petersburg, during which the desirability was noted of signing the Agreement between St.Petersburg and Tallinn, as well as a specific program of joint projects.

    On October 28, a seminar “Tallinn Meets St.Petersburg” was held at Smolny, dedicated to bilateral cooperation in the sphere of information technologies.

    On October 29, Hotel Ambassador hosted a seminar of representatives of business circles of St.Petersburg and Tallinn, at which the participants shared their experiences and had individual meetings and talks on cooperation.

    The delegation of Tallinn visited the Russian State Historical Archive, St.Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise “St.Petersburg Information-Analytical Center”, and other organizations in the city.

    Tallinn encounters traditionally provided a rich cultural program: photo exhibition “Twenty Years After”, a gala concert of the music group “Hortus Musicus” in the State Academic Capella, the Estonian Naval Museum’s exhibition “From the Hangars of the Sea Fortress to the Modern Museum”.

    On October 30, the Day of Estonian Ethnography was held at the Russian Ethnographic Museum, after which the Tallinn delegation visited Kronstadtskiy District of St.Petersburg, where E. Savisaar, Mayor of Tallinn, met with A.M. Goroshko, Head of district administration.

    The program “Tallinn – Cultural Capital of Europe 2011” was presented at “Theatre Festival Baltic House”.
