    Delegation of North Rhine-Westphalia Visited St.Petersburg

    On September 28 through October 4, a delegation of Land North Rhine-Westphalia, headed by Günter Hortezki, State Secretary of the Ministry for Economy and Power Industry, was in St.Petersburg for a business visit.

    On September 28 through October 4, a delegation of Land North Rhine-Westphalia, headed by Günter Hortezki, State Secretary of the Ministry for Economy and Power Industry, was in St.Petersburg for a business visit.

    As a part of the work in St.Petersburg, Friedrich Wagner, Head of International Department at the said Ministry, took part in the III St.Petersburg International Innovation Forum. For the representative of the Ministry, the negotiations were organized with the leadership of the St.Petersburg branch of "Special Economic Zones", Friedrich Wagner also gave a report at the Forum "Russian Industrialist”.

    On October 4, the delegation was received by I.O..Lonskiy, Vice-Chairman of the Committee for External Relations. During the talks, Günter Hortezki, State Secretary, announced the intention of City Dusseldorf to intensify the cooperation with St.Petersburg, as well as the plans of the federal land to open its economic mission in our city next year. On completion of the conversation, a presentation was organized in Smolny for the staff of the relevant committees, "Effective Cluster Policy in Germany via the Example of the Region of North Rhine-Westphalia", during which the heads of a number of clusters provided the experience in Dusseldorf in the car-production industry, and the development of new materials and nanotechnology and power industry. In the afternoon, the delegation was received by K.A. Soloveychik, Deputy Chairman of CEDIPT, for negotiations.

    Visit of the Dusseldorf delegation was finalized by a joint party to mark the Day of German Unity, which was organized by the Consulate General of Germany in St.Petersburg and Land North Rhine-Westphalia.
