    Negotiations on Russo-Finnish Cooperation within the Confines of International Initiative «Northern Dimension»

    A series of business meetings and negotiations on Russo-Finnish cooperation, within the confines of the international initiative «Northern Dimension», was held in St.Petersburg and Lappeenranta (Finland) on February 4 through 6. In particular, the opportunities and prospects for establishing the Institute of Northern Dimension based on the facilities of St. Petersburg State University and Lappeenranta University of Technology.

    A series of business meetings and negotiations on Russo-Finnish cooperation, within the confines of the international initiative «Northern Dimension», was held in St.Petersburg and Lappeenranta (Finland) on February 4 through 6. In particular, the opportunities and prospects for establishing the Institute of Northern Dimension based on the facilities of St. Petersburg State University and Lappeenranta University of Technology.

    In addition, much attention was paid to promote a joint program of «Saint-Petersburg Corridor» and to bestow on it the status of a Northern Dimension project.

    From the Russian side, the events were attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Russian Federation Embassy in Lappeenranta, the Committee for External Relations of St.Petersburg, and St.Petersburg State University. From Finland, there were the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Consulate General of Finland in St.Petersburg, the Mayor Office of Lappeenranta, and Lappeenranta University of Technology.

    During the negotiations, the sides exchanged their opinions on current issues of cooperation and outlined further steps to implement the agreements reached.
