    C.Strahl, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development of Canada, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, Visited St.Petersburg

    On June 7, 2010, Charles Strahl, Minister of Indian Affairs and Development of Northern Canada, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, visited St.Petersburg.

    On June 7, 2010, Charles Strahl, Minister of Indian Affairs and Development of Northern Canada, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, visited St.Petersburg.

    During his first visit to St.Petersburg, C. Strahl visited the Institute of the North (established at RSPU named after Gertsen). S.A. Goncharov, Vice-Rector of RSPU named after Gertsen, and L.B. Gashilova, Director of the Institute, introduced C. Strahl to the work of specialized departments for the study of languages of the North and conducted a tour for the Canadian delegation around the Museum at the Institute.

    A meeting with students and teachers also took place, which resulted in expressing by S.A. Goncharov and C. Strahl their interest in developing the cooperation between research centers studying the Northern Territories of Canada and the RSPU.

    When the program was over, folk studio theatre «Northern Lights» at the Institute gave special performance for the Canadian delegation.
