    Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees over Russian Federation Visited St.Petersburg

    On April 6, 2010, Gesche Karrenbrock, representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) over Russian Federation, held the working meetings at St.Petersburg Administration - with P.B. Pankratov, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee on Labour and Employment, and L.P. Bogdanov, Chairman of the Committee on Law, Order, and Security.

    On April 6, 2010, Gesche Karrenbrock, representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) over Russian Federation, held the working meetings at St.Petersburg Administration - with P.B. Pankratov, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee on Labour and Employment, and L.P. Bogdanov, Chairman of the Committee on Law, Order, and Security.

    At the meetings, discussed were the issues related to policies of city authorities concerning the refugees, displaced persons, and migrants within the urban settings, as well as the programs operating in St.Petersburg.

    Gesche Karrenbrock delivered the high esteem by the leadership of UNHCR with regard of the systematic work concerning the refugees and migrants carried out in St.Petersburg, and expressed interest in further development of cooperation with the city government, the Office of Federal Migration Service over St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region, and St.Petersburg Regional Office «Russian Red Cross» to share the positive experience of St.Petersburg with regions of Russia and abroad.
