    On June 14, a joint meeting of the organizing committees of the VI Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus took place in the Tauride Palace

    The meeting was attended by the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Yevgeny Yelin, representatives of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

    During the meeting, current issues related to the preparation of the VI Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus were discussed, in particular:
    - The program of events of the Russian-Belarusian Youth Forum and the meeting of the Council of the Youth Chamber at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia;
    - The program of the round table, breakout sessions and an expanded meeting of national business councils within the framework of the Forum;
    - the order and composition of speakers at the plenary meeting of the Forum;
    - holding a meeting of the Chairman of the Council of the Federation Valentina Matvienko and the Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich with the leaders of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and regions of the Republic of Belarus;
    - meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on inter-regional cooperation (agenda and composition of speakers)
    and etc.

    The organizer on the Russian side is the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

    For reference: the VI Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia will be held in St. Petersburg from July 16 to July 18, 2019. Traditionally, the central event of the Forum will be a plenary meeting in which the participation of heads of state is expected. The topic of this year's plenary meeting identified interregional ties as the basis for the formation of a single cultural and humanitarian space of the peoples of Russia and Belarus.
