    A ceremonial reception dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan and to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in St. Petersburg

    The organizer of the events is the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in St. Petersburg.

    On May 24, Vice Governor Yevgeny Yelin congratulated the Azerbaijani partners on behalf of the Government of St. Petersburg.

    Speaking to the guests,  Vice Governor of  St. Petersburg Yevgeny Yelin noted the high level of cooperation between St. Petersburg and Azerbaijan in the trade, economic, cultural and social spheres and expressed confidence its further strengthening.

    The greeting word of the Acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov was read out. In the text of the appeal, the acting head of the city recalled that there are regular exchanges of delegations between St. Petersburg and Azerbaijan, in December the second meeting of the Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Government of St. Petersburg and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held, and social and business mission of St. Petersburg to Baku is planned for this fall.

    The reception was also attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in St. Petersburg Sultan Gasimov, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Yevgeny Grigoriev, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of the Leningrad Region Andrei Minin.
