    A teleconference with Russian compatriots from Spain and Kyrgyzstan "Leningrad - Hero City" was held in Smolny

    On May 24, 2019, the teleconference ''Leningrad - Hero City'' was held in the situational center of Smolny.

    The director of the State Memorial Museum of Defense and Siege of Leningrad, Lezik E.V. was a moderator.

    The event was attended by representatives of the following organizations: ''Children of War'' (Bilbao, Spain), members of the ''Children of the Siege 900'' union and the ''Eternally Alive'' social movement (St. Petersburg, Russia), as well as residents of besieged Leningrad, children and finalists of the ''Peace through culture'' contest, studio of oratory and rhetoric SOCRATA school (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan).

    During the teleconference, participants heard stories about Spanish children of the war and survivors of the siege living in Spain, amazing life stories of the survivors currently living in St. Petersburg: Zimneva Irina Alekseevna, Galaktionov Vladimir Georgievich, Turbin Vladimir Vladimirovich, Kadysheva Maya Fedorovna, as well as magnificent poetry of Letushev Vitaly Nikolaevich.

    Wonderful poems were heard from Kyrgyzstan, including the history of salvation and the fate of Irina Alekseevna Zimneva and the history and fate of the survivors of the siege living in Bishkek.

    The participants of the conference heard an amazing story about the legendary resident of the village of Kurmenty (Kyrgyzstan) Toktogon Altybasarova, a mother who adopted 160 children from besieged Leningrad.

    The conference ended with the joint performance of the war years song ''Katyusha''.
