    On April 8 - 10, 2019 the delegation of St. Petersburg visited the partner city of cork (Ireland)

    The delegation of St. Petersburg included: Honorary Consul of Ireland in St. Petersburg Anatoly Shashin, Director of the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian world Foundation Oleg Mukovsky, Director of the Irish cultural center of St. Petersburg Andrei Mashinyan, chief of staff of the rector of the Russian state pedagogical University named after A. I. Herzen, M. S. Nikitin.

    During the visit, the delegation met with the Lord mayor of Cork, Mick Finn. A Protocol was signed between the Russian state pedagogical University named after A. I. Herzen and the National University of Ireland, and the Memorandum of understanding between the St. Petersburg branch of Fund "Russian world" and the National University of Ireland. The delegation of St. Petersburg also met with representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ireland.   

    Reference: Friendly relations between St. Petersburg and Cork (Ireland) are maintained for almost 15 years.
    Contacts are developing through higher education, education and culture.
    There is a permanent office of the Irish cultural center in St. Petersburg. a Protocol on the results of negotiations between the Governor of St. Petersburg and the Lord mayor of Cork has been signed and is being implemented.
    The visit of the St. Petersburg delegation to cork in April this year is organized in continuation of the agreements reached during the visit to the Northern capital of Russia, Lord mayor of Cork M. Finn in October 2018, as well as the subsequent visit of the St. Petersburg delegation to Ireland in December 2018.
