On April 8 - 10, within the framework of the V International Arctic forum "Arctic - territory of dialogue", meetings of the acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov with the heads of the two regions were held: Arkhangelsk region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
They discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, including in the interests of the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
As part of the meeting with the Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov, an action Plan ("Road map") for the development of cooperation between St. Petersburg and the Arkhangelsk region for 2019-2021 was signed, as well as an Agreement on cooperation in trade,economic, scientific,technical, cultural and social fields between the administrations of the Kronstadt district of St. Petersburg and the Severodvinsk municipality.
Following the meeting with Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aysen Nikolaev, the parties approved the Plan of measures ("roadmap") for the development of bilateral cooperation between St. Petersburg and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for the 2019-2021 years, and also witnessed the signing of Agreements on cooperation in shipbuilding between the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), JSC "Ratajska shipyard" and JSC "Sredne-Nevsky shipbuilding plant" and between the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), JSC "Ratajska shipyard" and JSC "Baltic plant".
The forum was attended by delegations from the Arctic regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries.
