    On April 2, in Moscow, first Deputy Chairman of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg Sergey Markov took part in the parliamentary hearings of the State Duma on the humanitarian vector of Russia's international policy

    Parliamentary hearings on "The humanitarian vector of international policy of the Russian Federation at the present stage" were organized by the state Duma Committee on the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots.

    Deputies of the State Duma and members of the Federation Council, representatives of ministries and departments, regions of the Russian Federation, figures of culture, education, science, compatriots living abroad, representatives of the business community and the expert community were invited to the hearing.

    The participants discussed the following issues: the state of Russia's humanitarian presence in the world and its legislative support; the peculiarities of the functioning of the Russian humanitarian force in the post-Soviet space, taking into account the level of integration; the role of education in the Russian humanitarian force; migration factors of the increasing cultural and humanitarian role of Russia; the contribution of compatriots living abroad in the humanitarian vector of foreign policy of the Russian Federation, etc.

    Agreements were reached on the participation of members of the state Duma Committee on the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots in international events implemented by the Government of St. Petersburg, including through work with Russian compatriots living abroad.  

    Following the discussion, the recommendations of the parliamentary hearings were adopted, which noted the significant contribution of the subjects of Russia to the development of interregional and cross-border cooperation with foreign regions and States in the humanitarian field.
