    The project of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg "First day of peace", dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade, was held in Estonia and Latvia from 21 to 25 February

    The project presented the play "the First day of peace after the war", based on the memoirs of Olga Bergholz, Daniil Granin, Nikolai Tikhonov, Anna Akhmatova, Alexander Blok. The roles in the production were performed by the artists of the Romantic theater of Yuri Tomoshevsky. There was also a photo exhibition "I'm talking to you from Leningrad...". In the cities, where it was possible, the presentation of memorial signs "in honor of the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade"was held. On behalf of the Acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, veterans and blockade veterans were given greeting cards, all participants were given ribbons of the Leningrad victory.

    The project was presented in four cities: Narva and Tallinn (Estonia), Riga and Daugavpils (Latvia).

    On February 21, Narva (Estonia) became the first city to show the project. Performances were held on the stage of the house of culture "Rugodiv". Members of the society "residents of besieged Leningrad", Estonian schoolchildren and students were invited as spectators. Prior to the performance, Peter Kodolov, Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of Russia in Narva, made a welcoming speech.

    On February 22 in Tallinn (Estonia) the performance was attended by veterans, former juvenile prisoners of fascism, members of the air defense veterans Club and the Navy Club, as well as schoolchildren and students.
    Actors and spectators were welcomed by the counselor of the Embassy of Russia in Estonia Dmitry Litskai. Active assistance in the event was provided by volunteers from the organization "Active youth club".
    At the end of the performance, the audience applauded standing and twice called the artists for an encore.

    February 23, the campaign took place in Latvia: representatives of the Latvian Association of anti-Hitler coalition fighters, the Latvian society of siege of Leningrad, the society of residents of besieged Leningrad, the Republican society of veterans, the coordinating Council of organizations of Russian compatriots in Latvia gathered in the House of Moscow in Riga.
    Participants were welcomed by Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Latvia Evgeny Lukyanov, head of the Moscow House in Riga Yuri Silov, Deputy of the Riga city Duma, Chairman of the faction "center of Consent" Maxim Tolstoy.
    In their welcoming remarks, the officials noted the special importance of the organization of such projects for the preservation of historical memory and education of the younger generation. They congratulated the veterans on the defender of the Fatherland Day-February 23 and wished them health and long life.

    On February 25, the final concert in the Baltic States took place in the house of culture of Daugavpils region "VARPA" in Daugavpils. The performance was watched by representatives of the Daugavpils society of residents of besieged Leningrad, Rezekne society of residents of besieged Leningrad, Daugavpils society of fighters of the anti-Hitler coalition, Veteran organization of Rezekne "LAKSA", Rezekne branch Of the Russian community of Latvia, Daugavpils society of military pensioners, Daugavpils branch Of the Russian community of Latvia, the center of Russian culture of Daugavpils, etc. The organization of the event actively helped Daugavpils volunteer organization "Red cross".
    The General Consul of Russia in Daugavpils Andrey Vladimirov made a welcoming speech to the audience.

    In addition to the Baltic States, the events have already been held in Minsk (Belarus). The project is also planned in Berlin and Hamburg (Germany), Washington and St. Petersburg (USA). (There are 9 cities in 5 countries with the largest number of Russian compatriots).

    The aim of the project is to support the Russian world abroad and spread knowledge about the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945.
