The Chairman of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg Evgeny Grigoriev noted the long-standing friendly relations between Russia and Ethiopia. He stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the business sphere, including the supply of fruit and coffee from Ethiopia, as well as the involvement of St. Petersburg specialists in the reconstruction of Railways. At the same time, according to the Chairman of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg, it is necessary to pay attention to the development of humanitarian cooperation in the field of higher education, culture and tourism.
E. D. Grigoriev confirmed his readiness to assist in the business forum of the St. Petersburg and Ethiopian enterprises, scheduled for April 2019.
Alemayehu Tegen, in turn, thanked for the warm welcome extended to the Ethiopian delegation in St. Petersburg, and expressed hope for the strengthening of multilateral cooperation between St. Petersburg and Ethiopia, including interregional contacts between St. Petersburg and the Ethiopian capital-Addis Ababa.
