The festive ceremony on the occasion of the first birthday was held in Lenexpo (pavilion 8) as part of the celebration of the Chinese New year in St. Petersburg.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Committee on interethnic relations and implementation of migration policy of St. Petersburg, The house of nationalities, educational institutions and St. Petersburg universities, members of the Union of artists of St. Petersburg, as well as heads of Expoforum international.
Several exhibitions were presented to the guests of the festival. The exhibition, prepared by the Consulate General of China in St. Petersburg, spoke about the traditions of celebrating the Chinese New year. Exhibition of works by Rashid Abdulmanova introduced the audience to the technique of Zen. There were also paintings by Alexei Smirnov, Kirill Sukhanov and Ksenia Lavrov (the artist humorously depicted the sights of the city, replacing them partially with animals that are symbols of the year in the Eastern calendar).
Master classes on Chinese calligraphy and painting, paper cutting, playing Mahjong and tasting of Chinese tea were also organized for the guests.
At the end of the official part, a concert was held, which United the national dances of the Chuvash people, a Chinese musical performance and a demonstration of martial art of Wushu.
