    Today, January 30, in Smolny Chairman of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg Evgeny Grigoriev and Consul General of Germany in St. Petersburg Eltier Aderhold discussed the preparation of the 16th Week of Germany in St. Petersburg

    Ms. Consul General described the main events planned for the coming Week in Germany. The events will be held from 3 to 10 April 2019. The official partner of the Week of Germany this year is the Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Residents and guests of St. Petersburg will enjoy a rich program consisting of more than 60 events.

    The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of innovation, science and technology of the Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia prof. plans to take part in the opening of the Week of Germany, as well as in other elements of its program. Andreas Pinkworth accompanied by a delegation of representatives of the German economy. The main theme of the economic block of events will be aspects of deepening economic cooperation, in particular, in the field of digitalization.

    Among the many planned events were named: German-Russian conference on mediation, which will be held on April 4 by the Ministry of justice of North Rhine-Westphalia together with the North-West branch of the Russian legal Academy of the Ministry of justice.

    The German academic exchange service (DAAD) is currently preparing a number of conferences, seminars, discussions, as well as a fair presentation of universities from North Rhine-Westphalia and scientific slam within the framework of The German-Russian cross year of scientific and educational partnerships.

    On April 6, the scheduled Day of the German language, an extensive program which will combine the various agencies associated with the promotion of the German language (among them the Goethe Institute, the German academic exchange service (DAAD), the German school, the German Central administration of schools abroad, the German-Russian center of meetings at St. Peter's Church, etc.).

    On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Alexander von Humboldt, the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is preparing a festive event at the Pulkovo Observatory. One of the most important events of the Week will be the exhibition "Masters of Russia: made in German " is a multimedia project of the Russian-German chamber of Commerce, designed to demonstrate examples of successful cooperation between German and Russian companies.

    Chairman of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg Evgeny Grigoriev, for his part, noted that the Week of Germany makes a significant contribution to building a constructive dialogue with German partners. He confirmed his readiness to provide full support to the project and expressed confidence that the meetings within the framework of the German Week will be fruitful and will help to further strengthen bilateral contacts.
