    In the partner city of St. Petersburg Bishkek honored the memory of the defenders and residents of the besieged Leningrad

    Today, January 25, in the capital of Kyrgyzstan held a rally-Requiem dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade.

    The solemn funeral ceremony was held in the Victory Park named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Dair Asanov, where in 2012 a monument to the siege of Leningrad was set.

    The Vice-mayor Assel Kulambayeva congratulated the audience on behalf of mayor Aziz Surakmatov of Bishkek. "On behalf of the residents of Bishkek and myself, let me congratulate the veterans and residents of St. Petersburg on the significant date of the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade. This day is also important for Kyrgyz people. All the tragic 900 days, the people of Kyrgyzstan were loyal to the heroic city on the Neva, organized the collection and shipment of products, received the inhabitants of Leningrad, sharing their shelter and warmth," Deputy mayor A. Kulambayeva said in her welcoming speech.

    The event was also attended by the blockade of Leningrad, the veterans of the great Patriotic war, inhabitants of Bishkek, head of the office of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Dosaly Esenaliev, the Secretary of security Council of Kyrgyzstan Damir Sagynbaev, extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Kyrgyzstan Andrey Krutko and the President of the Kyrgyz society of the blockade of Leningrad Anna Kutanova.

    To the sounds of the metronome, all present honored the memory of the dead with a minute of silence. After the speech, the ceremony of laying flowers to the monument to the blockade of Leningrad.
