January 16, 2019 in Smolny a working meeting was held of the Chairman of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg Evgeny Grigoriev with the head of the Department of history of the Far East faculty of St. Petersburg state University, Director of the only outside Vietnam Institute Ho Chi Minh Professor Vladimir Kolotov.
The meeting was also attended by the special representative of the Governor of St. Petersburg on the development of state construction and interaction with the subjects of the Russian Federation Sergey Katanandov and Deputy Chairman of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg Vyacheslav Kalganov.
The main topic of discussion was the holding of events in St. Petersburg in the framework of the Year of Russia in Vietnam and the Year of Vietnam in Russia. Grigoriev E. D., as a member of the Russian part of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the "cross year", spoke about the plans of the Committee to deepen ties not only with the partners of our city in this country (Ho Chi Minh city and Haiphong, as well as Khanhoa province), but also with other regions.
Among the key events in 2019 are two Russian-Vietnamese youth forums, the Days of St. Petersburg in Ho Chi Minh city, a number of cultural and business events, including the exhibition Of the Museum of victims of the Ho Chi Minh city war, a full-fledged exposition of Vietnam's antiquities in the Hermitage, as well as an exhibition at the Military medical Museum "your Pain in my heart, Vietnam. Soviet military doctors had to protect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".
Also during the meeting, E. D. Grigoriev thanked Professor Kolotov for active assistance in the development of Russian-Vietnamese relations and congratulated him on the past anniversary.
