The visit was organized by St. Petersburg Sports Federation with the support of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.
In addition to participation in the Marathon, representatives from St. Petersburg held work sessions with members of State Office for Sport of the Republic of Croatia and Zagreb Mayor’s Office. It was agreed that athletes from St. Petersburg and Zagreb will continue to participate in events held on the territory of the two cities.

Exchange of sports delegations between St. Petersburg and Zagreb was implemented in 2018 at the initiative of Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić and in conjunction with the 50-th anniversary of establishing partnership between the two cities.
Earlier, in July 2018 running fans from Croatia visited St. Petersburg and participated in the XXIX International Field and Track Marathon “White Nights”.
