    On 02-05 September 2018 Vice Governor of St. Petersburg S.N. Movchan visited Hamburg (Federal Republic of Germany)

    Russian-German Partneriat for Small and Medium Business was organized with the support of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the German-Russian Economic Union. The Event was intended to coincide with the participation of the delegation in the SMM International Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology Trade Fair.  

    The Vice Governor of St. Petersburg S.N. Movchan met with Christie Degen, Chief Executive Officer of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce; T. Overbeck, President of the German-Russian Economic Union; Olga Zuin, Programme Coordinator of Baltic 2030, the Council of the Baltic Sea States.

    Welcoming addresses to the visitors of the Event at the Russian-German Partneriat for Small and Medium Business opening ceremony were made by Christie Degen, Chief Executive Officer of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce; Annette Tabarra, Senate Commissioner of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg within the European Union and for External Relations the Hamburg Senate Representative; Pavel  Rubtsov, Deputy Head of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Federal Republic of Germany; S.N. Movchan, Vice Governor of St. Petersburg and Yuri Burchakov, President of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

    Cooperation Agreement between St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce was signed.

    Sergey Movchan delivered the report “Development of Cooperation between Regions, Opportunities for Cooperation Interaction” and presented investment opportunities of St. Petersburg as well as proposals for cooperation in industry and small and medium enterprise.

    On September 3rd, round table discussions on the theme “Medical Technology and Healthcare” and “Sustainable Urban Development” (Environmental Protection) were held as part of the Partneriat. Business Contacts Exchange was organized.

    On September 4th, a round table discussion on shipbuilding “Shipping and Shipbuilding Industry: Clean and Safe Technologies” was organized within the Partneriat for Small and Medium Business.

    Presentations of companies interested in developing cooperation with Germany were held.

    During the SMM International Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology Trade Fair, Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education “St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University”, Shipbuilding and Ship Safety Institute and Institute for Vessel Constructional Engineering and Analysis under the patronage of German Shipbuilding Union and Russian Scientific and Technical Society of Shipbuilders.

    During the visit, Information and Business Center of St. Petersburg was officially opened in Hamburg.
