    On 03-08 September 2018 the delegation of St. Petersburg visited the Republic of Uganda

    A number of meetings with local municipalities was organized as part of the visit. The representatives of St. Petersburg met with the leaders of the cities of Kampala, Entebbe, Iganga and Jinja. Issues of establishing partnership with districts and municipal formations of St. Petersburg were discussed during the meetings.

    Also, bilateral tourism development was negotiated at the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities.

    The representatives of the State Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal of St. Petersburg exchanged experience with their Ugandan colleagues during the visit to the sewage treatment facilities in the cities of Ggaba and Lubigi and the recently launched Water Resource Institute and the Conservation Center in the city of Entebbe. Specific emphasis was put on the issues of the negative impact of human activities on the main freshwater sources of Lake Victoria and the River Nile.

    The delegation members also attended Uganda Urban Expo International Exhibition.

    The delegation of St. Petersburg visited an orthodox church in Namungoona on the last day of their stay in Uganda and gave its Father Superior religious books as a gift.
