Delegation of the capital of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Khokim of Tashkent Elbek Shukurov visited St. Petersburg to participate in the Events. The delegation included members of the executive authorities, business community and Tashkent artistic groups.
Days of Tashkent opening ceremony was held on 01 November in the Center for Import Substitution and Localization of St. Petersburg.
Produce of Uzbekistan enterprises was presented to the participants and guests of the Event, a business contacts exchange was organized as well as concerts of Tashkent artistic groups and a fashion show featuring Uzbek national dress.
On the same day, bilateral documents in various areas were signed on the sidelines of the forum. They included:
- Memorandum of Understanding between Pavlov First St. Petersburg State Medical University of Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and Main Department of Health of Tashkent Khokimiyat of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
- Memorandum of Cooperation in obstetrics and gynecology and infertility treatment between D.O. Otto Institute for Scientific Research in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Fertility Science and Main Department of Health of Tashkent Khokimiyat of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
- Cooperation Agreement on laboratory assessments between Alkor Bio Company (St. Petersburg) and Main Department of Health of Tashkent Khokimiyat of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
- Cooperation and Collaboration Agreement in the field of crafts, national artistic trades and applied arts between Association of national artistic trades and crafts of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region and Hunarmand Association of Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On 02 November 2018 a meeting in an enhanced format was held in Smolny between Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Sergey Movchan and Deputy Khokim of Tashkent Elbek Shukurov. Members of the executive branch of the Governments of St. Petersburg and Tashkent participated in the meeting.
During the conversation, the sides discussed issues related to development bilateral cooperation between St. Petersburg and Tashkent. Special emphasis was placed on issues of developing trade and economic cooperation and cooperation in youth policy and education.
The meeting led to an agreement to arrange a visit of St. Petersburg business representatives to Tashkent in late November – early December 2018.
The Tashkent delegation was invited to participate in international events scheduled to be held in St. Petersburg in 2018.
