    On December 10 - 11 in the partner city of St. Petersburg Osh (Kyrgyzstan) were held on-site training courses for teachers of the Russian language and Russian literature

    The organizer is the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg within the framework of implementation of the state policy of the Russian Federation towards compatriots abroad by the Government of St. Petersburg.

    The aim of the project is to improve the professional level of teachers of the Russian language and Russian literature, as well as familiarity with advanced methods of teaching the subject.

     40 teachers of Kyrgyzstan, who teach Russian as a foreign language (RFL) in high school, took part in the program.

    Classes were held on the basis of Osh State University with the assistance of the Russian center of science and culture in Osh, where lectures and workshops were organized.

    Topics of lectures: 1) Text as an object of study (in the aspect of RFL); 2) Functional styles and types of text in the RFL lesson; 3) Authentic speech situations in the RFL lesson; 4) Discussion as an authentic speech situation in the RFL lesson; 5) Text categories in the RFL lesson.

    The topics of the workshops concerned the methods of work of the teacher of RFL in a foreign language audience, the preparation of the project for the audience (for example, the lesson "Traditions of Russian cuisine", "Know and love your land. A journey to Lake Baikal").

    At the end of the classes the teachers presented their own creative projects.

    At the end of the program, the participants were awarded with certificates of professional development.

    In addition, the Russian center of science and culture in Osh (representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo) was given scientific, methodological and fiction literature (230 books in total) from the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg. The books will be partially used in the work of the centers, and partially transferred to Russian compatriots, students, teachers and school educators.
