The aim of the project is to promote St. Petersburg culture abroad and maintain ties between Russian compatriots, including the younger generation, with Russia and St. Petersburg.
The organizer is the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg within the framework of implementation of the state policy of the Russian Federation towards compatriots abroad by the Government of St. Petersburg.
Children of Russian compatriots in the Baltic States were presented with a performance of the Baltic house festival theater based on the fairy tale "Cinderella" with the participation of Father Frost and snow Maiden.
The performance was seen by children in 9 cities: Sillamäe, Kohtla-järve, Narva, Tartu, Rezekne, Daugavpils, Visaginas, Vilnius, Kaunas.
On December 10 - 11 performances were held in the Estonian cities of Sillamäe, Kohtla-järve and Narva.
Before the performances began, the greeting of the current head of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov with new year's greetings to Russian compatriots was read.
Such attention from the authorities of the Northern capital of Russia, the audience called a great gift. "These are different performances every year. But they always have something in common, they are interesting to our Narva audience. It is a great gift for us that our old friendship continues", the Director of the house of culture "Rugodiv" in Narva Elena Kalyadina said.
The teacher of junior classes of one of the schools in Sillamäe (Estonia), which brought a whole class to the "Petersburg fairy tale" , and spoke about the special attitude to St. Petersburg: "The congratulation of the acting Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Dmitrievich Beglov, cut us to the heart. Excellent words! Thank you for the fairy tale. We love St. Petersburg very much, we often visit it. Your city is great and the people are great".
Director of the cultural Center of Sillamäe, in his turn, thanked the organizers and said: "It's really great that from one year to the next young spectators join the art of theater with your help".
On December 12, presentations were held in Tartu (Estonia) and Rezekne (Latvia).
"I want to thank St. Petersburg for the fact that this action gives our children the opportunity to join the great Russian culture, it is always a good gift and joy for us, and we would be happy if this tradition did not end," said a resident of Tartu, who came there with young children. "You have no idea how your attention is important for us! You continue to surprise us, and we continue to be surprised".
One of the young spectators of the concert in Rezekne complained that the Rezekne theater plays only a few times a year, and the artists do not come to the city very often: "We are very happy and proud that today there was such a performance-it's magical, thank you very much, St. Petersburg!»
On December 13 performances were held in Daugavpils (Latvia). And on December 14 they were held in Vilnius and Kaunas (Lithuania).
