    On August 23-26, delegation of St. Petersburg visited Sakhalin region

    The Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy S. Poltavchenko led the official delegation.

    It also included representatives of the executive bodies of St. Petersburg government and subordinate institutions, doctors, artists as well as representatives of eight enterprises of the city, including Quarry-Service LLC., Orbita LCC., Lazer Graffiti LCC., Zvezda-Energetika, JSC and others.

    Within the framework of the business program were organized three round tables: “Industrial and Innovative potential of the regions. Business development and SME support “, “Safety and quality of water supply and wastewater disposal”, “Cultural cooperation”, matchmaking for enterprises and organizations of St. Petersburg and the Sakhalin region, as well as a visit to the fishing collective farm named after. S.M. Kirov.

    Special attention was devoted to the health care. Leading specialists of St. Petersburg healthcare institutions conducted four surgeries, carried out more than 100 medical consultations for the residents of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, incl. via videoconference.

    In addition, the president of the St. Petersburg Biathlon Federation, Dmitry V. Vasiliev, conducted a master class on winter sports for the coaches and students of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk sports schools.

    On August 24, the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy S. Poltavchenko and the Governor of the Sakhalin region Oleg N. Kozhemyako signed an additional agreement to the Agreement on the Principles of Trade, Economic and Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of St. Petersburg and the Administration of the Sakhalin region with the Plan of Actions for 2017-2020.

    As part of the cultural program on August 24 instrumental ensemble "ESSE-Quintet" performed for the residents of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

    On August 25, the delegation of St. Petersburg laid flowers and wreaths to the memorial complex "Glory Square".

    Later that day the Governor of St. Petersburg, Georgy S. Poltavchenko and members of the official delegation met with the Leningrad Siege survivors residing in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
