During the visit, a meeting was held on the development of cooperation.

Kalganov, Deputy Rector of the St. Petersburg State University of International Relations S.Andryushin, Scientific Director of the project "Ho Chi Minh Institute of St. Petersburg State University" Professor V.N.Kolotov.

The Socialist Republic of Vietnam was represented in negotiations by the head of the delegation, secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union Nguyen An Tuan.

According to Nguyen An Tuan, the Vietnamese people are still grateful to Russia for the assistance rendered during the war for the independence of Vietnam, its liberation and unification, and especially for its assistance in training.

"Currently, there are many people among the leaders of our country who have received education in the Soviet Union, including at the Leningrad State University. These cadres showed their high qualifications when they withdrew our state from the crisis and successfully carried out economic reforms, "Nguyen An Tuan said.

Moreover, the head of the Vietnamese delegation noted the high level of modern Russian education and the good conditions created for the Vietnamese youth studying in Russia.

On behalf of St. Petersburg, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, Vyacheslav Kalganov, suggested that the partners establish trilateral cooperation between the City Government, the St. Petersburg State University and the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh on a systematic basis. In particular, V.G. Kalganov proposed to organize a project to study the memory of the Vietnamese leader first in St. Petersburg, and later with the participation of other regions of Russia.

    For reference:

The Ho Chi Minh Youth Union is the only youth political organization in Vietnam. It was established in 1931, immediately after the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Its tasks include training party personnel, enlightening youth, and mobilizing young people to solve state problems aimed at strengthening the country's economy.

In Russia, the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh is engaged in popularization of the history of relations between our countries, and also conducts interaction with Russian youth organizations.
