The project «Fashion and Time» was presented in the Marble Hall of Russian Ethnographic Museum on May 28, 2009. Jaroslava Sedlá?ková, a leading fashion designer from Czech Republic, demonstrated her collection of garments produced especially for St.Petersburg.

Show organizer: Consulate General of Czech Republic in St.Petersburg.

The collection, inspired by the fashion of different epochs, was adorned with modern jewelry featuring Czech garnets. Introducing her new articles, the designer said that the motto of this collection is «déjà vu»: it was based on the fashion of Antiquity, Renaissance, Gothic, Baroque, and other hictorical periods, many elements of which were reflected in the architecture of St.Petersburg.

Uncommon also was the way of presentation of the collection: instead of a classic fashion show, the guests watched a program, every item of which represented a model devoted to an era or national culture.

The program included the second charitable sales of jewelry with the unique Czech garnets, provided by the factory «Turnov - Czech Garnet» (the first one was held in St.Petersburg as a part of the exhibition «Seventeen Centuries of Czech Garnets» from February 10 till March 15, 2009). All visitors of the Russian Ethnographic Museum were able to purchase the jewelry with Czech garnets on May 29 throuch 31. The income of the sale is to be transferred to the foundation «Russian Gift of Life» that helps children with congenital heart disease.
