Days of Oslo in St.Petersburg and the exhibition «Oslo: the City at the Fjords» were organized by the Council for Tourism of Norway and the Government and the Council for Tourism of Oslo, with the support of St. Petersburg Government.
The Days of Oslo were held in St.Petersburg on May 1 through10, 2009.
The delegation of Oslo was headed by Mrs. A. Kvalbein, Vice-Mayor.
Days of Oslo in St.Petersburg and the exhibition «Oslo: the City at the Fjords» were organized by the Council for Tourism of Norway and the Government and the Council for Tourism of Oslo, with the support of St. Petersburg Government.
The official opening of the Days was held at the Russian Ethnographic Museum on May 5, where the welcoming speeches were made by A.I. Vakhmistrov, Vice-Governor of St.Petersburg, Mrs A. Kvalbein, Vice Mayor of Oslo, and Mr R. Osheim, Consul General of the Kingdom of Norway in St.Petersburg.
As part of the business events of the Days, A.I. Vakhmistrov, Vice-Governor of St.Petersburg, met with the delegation of Oslo on May 5, and the issues of further cooperation between our regions were discussed.

At St.Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented were innovative development strategies and major innovation clusters of Oslo, and a series of presentations by Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce was held.

At the Roundtable on Urban Development, the construction of underwater tunnels and implementing the urban development strategies of Oslo and St. Petersburg were discussed. The delegation of Oslo visited the construction sites of the «Sea Facade» (artificial levees of the city) and examined the new marine passenger terminal.

Within the framework of the seminar on tourism development in Oslo, the travel agencies of St.Petersburg were enabled to make acquaintance with the summer tourism program of Norway offered to the residents of our city.

Based on the facilities of SUE «Vodokanal St.Petersburg», a seminar was held to share the experience in the area of water supply and working with the customers. The presentation on the activity of SUE «Vodokanal St.Petersburg» training center was attended by the pupils from Oslo and St.Petersburg.
All events of the Days aroused great interest among the citizens and St.Petersburg business people, the exhibition «Oslo: the City at the Fjords» was attended by about 23 thousand people. The results of the meetings showed the mutual interest of St.Petersburg and Oslo in further development of cooperation.
The preparation of a series of joint activities in Oslo has already started. A roundtable of Petersburg and Norwegian business people will be run at the end of the year, in accordance with the activities of the Information Business Center of St.Petersburg in Oslo, with the participation of St.Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, while the representatives of the urban sector of St.Petersburg will study the technology of underwater tunnels construction in Oslo.
