The parties discussed the great importance of the cultural element in enhancing bilateral cooperation. Italian delegations take part in almost every cultural event held in St-Petersburg as well as organize their own events. In particular, on February 18th 2015 the Hermitage Theater with hold a concert of the Wind band of the San Carlo Opera House (Naples).
The Consul General informed his counterpart that in 2014 twice as many Italian visas were issued in St-Petersburg as a result of Russian-Italian Bilateral Year.
In 2015 the Consulate General is continuing to implement the program “Friends of Italy” which will allow the citizens of St-Petersburg who know the Italian language and often visit Italy to obtain a longstanding multi-entry visa.
The parties also emphasized that a lot of attention should be paid to enhancing economic cooperation. In particular, a session of the Association of Italian Companies in Russia will take place in St-Petersburg next week.
