    On February 25 a business meeting of O.A. Markov, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, and Istvan Horvath, Consul General of Hungary in St. Petersburg, was held in Smolny.

    On February 25 a business meeting of O.A. Markov, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, and Istvan Horvath, Consul General of Hungary in St. Petersburg, was held in Smolny.

    The Russian party also featured E.D. Grigoriev, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, and S.I. Chernyshev, a deputy representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; the Hungarian Consul General was accompanied by Gabor Nagy, Vice-Consul of Hungary on Trade and Economic issues.

    The parties discussed the main areas of cooperation between St. Petersburg and Hungary (in the context of the agreements reached in the course of the negotiations between the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban which took place in Budapest on February 17, 2015). A special emphasis was laid on health care and pharmaceuticals industry, the promotion of health tourism, the issues of historical heritage, the cooperation in supporting small and medium businesses, as well as on sharing experiences in developing the “water cluster”.
