    St. Petersburg and Beijing take steps to enhance cooperation

    On 25 - 26 January 2016, in the framework of the development of the agreements reached by the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko and the Mayor of Beijing Mr. Wang Anshun, St. Petersburg hosted the first meeting of the task group on cooperation between St. Petersburg and Beijing (China).

    On 25 - 26 January 2016, in the framework of the development of the agreements reached by the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko and the Mayor of Beijing Mr. Wang Anshun, St. Petersburg hosted the first meeting of the task group on cooperation between St. Petersburg and Beijing (China).

    During the meeting the sides discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues: cooperation in the sphere of business, investment raising, construction, transport and tourism. Arrangements were made to enhance cooperation in the sphere of culture, physical education, science and education.

    On the sidelines of tourism exhibition "Russia, the travel area", which takes place in the Center of Import Substitution and Localization of Saint-Petersburg these days ("Lenexpo", Hall 4), there was work in sections "Economy and Investments" and "Tourism and Entertainment Infrastructure".  

    The meeting was attended by the Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Oleg Markov, the heads of profile committees of the Governments of St. Petersburg and Beijing.

    The meeting was followed by signing of the protocol.

    The next meeting in the same format will be held in Beijing at the end of 2016.
