    On 1 - 5 September, 2016, Saint Petersburg was visited by a delegation of British and American Arctic convoys' veterans.

    Veterans participated in the solemn transfer of the "Arctic Star" medal for exhibition, this ceremony took place at the Central Naval Museum premises. The "Sherman" tank was transferred to the exposition of the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps

    The visit was organized for participation in the events to mark the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the first Allied convoy "Dervish" to Russia.

    Russian, British and American Arctic convoys' veterans laid flowers at Piskaryovsky Memorial. Veterans participated in the solemn transfer of the "Arctic Star" medal for exhibition, this ceremony took place at the Central Naval Museum premises. The "Sherman" tank was transferred to the exposition of the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps.

    During the solemn meeting at the monument "In memory of Arctic Convoys sailors of 1941-1945", Arctic Convoys' veterans were congratulated by the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko.

    While entering the Gulf of Finland, Russian, British and American veterans took part in the wreath-laying ceremony on the water in memory of sailors and pilots of Arctic convoys, killed during the World War II.

    The veterans also visited the Kronstadt Naval Cathedral.

    "Dervish 2016" events were organized by the RPO (regional public organization) “The Arctic Allied Convoys” with the support of the St. Petersburg Administration, State Organization "Central Naval Museum", Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps, Admiral Makarov State University of Marine and Inland Shipping, British Consulate General and the US Consulate General in St. Petersburg.

    Festive concert was organized for veterans’ delegation in the theater "Zazerkalie" with the support of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.
