    On October 16, a meeting of the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations E.D. Grigoriev with the Consul General of Greece in St. Petersburg Panagiotis Beglitis took place in Smolny

    The meeting was a protocol event on the occasion of Mr. Beglitis commencing his diplomatic mission in St. Petersburg. E.D. Grigoriev commented on the invariably active work of the Consulate General of Greece in St. Petersburg, and expressed his satisfaction with the ties established between St. Petersburg and Greece.

In return, Mr. Beglitis confirmed his intention and willingness to facilitate further strengthening of these ties. The participants of the meeting exchanged opinions on the development of further cooperation considering the preparations to the Russian-Greek Bilateral Year 2016.

    The Consul General received from E.D. Grigoriev a program of the events to be held in St. Petersburg in the context of the Bilateral Year. At the end of the meeting E.D. Grigoriev wished Mr. Beglitis every success in his capacity as the Consul General of Greece in St. Petersburg and confirmed the willingness of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg to render further assistance to the work of the Consulate General.
