On June 4-5 a seminar dated to the 10th anniversary of St. Petersburg Information and Business Center’s operation was held in Kohtla –Järve.

The seminar was organized by “Bizkon” Center. The delegation from St. Petersburg featured representatives of the Russian Museum, “Ecoinzh” LLC., JSC “Arsenal-207”, “Agro-Nord-West” LLC., St. Petersburg State Agrarian University, etc (12 people in total).

Greetings and congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the Information and Business Center’s operation from E.D. Grigoriev, Head of the Committee for External Relations, were read to the seminar participants by Evgeny Solovyov, Mayor of Kohtla-Järve

The objective of the seminar was to summarize the results of the 10-year work and define the areas of further cooperation. In the course of 10 years over 50 meetings, conferences, negotiations aimed at facilitating business cooperation have been held; 4 joint projects within the Program of cross-border cooperation have been elaborated. Many Estonian and St. Petersburg companies have found business partners.

As to the plans for the future, many joint projects are already in the discussion stage despite the difficult political and economic situation. In particular, “Ecoinzh” LLC is preparing to enter into cooperation with the Kohtla-Järve Competence Center in the area of waste management, including shale waste management. “Agro-Nord-West” LLC suggested the regions of Laane-Virumaa and Ida-Virumaa a project of creating an Agropark, which will assist in introducing new technologies to the agricultural and food industries. The issues of preserving cultural and historical heritage also pose a great interest to both parties. These and other topics were discussed at the seminar and B2B meetings. Upon the results of this visit of the St. Petersburg business delegation to Estonia, it is possible to say with certainty that the development of cooperation between St. Petersburg and Estonian small business under the auspices of St. Petersburg Information and Business Center will continue successfully.
