    On May 28 a meeting with T.V. Khabarova, head of the UN-Habitat office in the Russian Federation, took place in Smolny

    The meeting featured representatives of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, the Committee for Economic Policy and Strategic Planning of St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg Committee for City Planning and Architecture as well as State Research and Design Center of St. Petersburg Master Plan. 

    The meeting featured representatives of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, the Committee for Economic Policy and Strategic Planning of St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg Committee for City Planning and Architecture as well as State Research and Design Center of St. Petersburg Master Plan. The meeting was held at the initiative of the UN-Habitat Secretariat. Issues pertaining to St. Petersburg joining the new UN-Habitat City Resilience Profiling Program were discussed at the meeting. The program aims at providing national and local governments with tools to monitor and increase the resilience of cities to multi-hazard impacts of modern life. The main goal of the program is to develop international recommendations in the area of city planning and development in order to increase resilience and stability of urban systems. 

    St. Petersburg received an invitation to participate in the UN-Habitat City Resilience Profiling Seminar scheduled to take place in Barcelona in November 2015 as part of the Smart City Expo World Congress. Possible holding and attending other joint events, round tables, presentations, etc within the Habitat mandate which constitute issues of interest for St. Petersburg was also covered. Representatives of UN-Habitat in Russia also suggested signing a detailed plan of action with the Administration of St. Petersburg in the near future.
